The Entebbe Rotary Fraternity registered yet another successful milestone after 114 golfers and well wishers graced the Entebbe Rotary fundraising Golf Tournament at the par 71 Entebbe Golf Course on Saturday with a sole aim of raising money to help Children with heart problems get the much needed operation and surgery.

According to Walter Nyero the Entebbe Rotary President, the Entebbe Rotary Fraternity’s goal this year is to help five children with heart problems get the much needed operation and surgery at the Uganda Heart Institute in Mulago Hospital.

Our target this year as the Entebbe Rotary fraternity is to help five children with heart problems get surgery at Mulago Heart Institute. We have already identified one child in Katabi who will get surgery at a cost of shs2.6m. We are grateful to Gift of Life that has continued to partner with Rotary International to help Children with heart problems get surgery. We resolved that the Golf fundraising tournament be held annually to continue helping Children with heart problems get surgery, Walter Nyero stated.

Meanwhile unlike in 2016 when 80 players participated in the inaugural Entebbe Rotary Golf fundraising tournament, this year’s edition attracted a total of 114 players who walked away with different categories of prizes.

Playing Golf Handicap 20, Jonathan Bakwenga emerged overall winner with 42 stable ford points. His success earned him a trophy and an all expenses paid Air ticket to any destination in Europe courtesy of tournament sponsors Brussels Airlines.

Team lets Go Travel emerged as the overall winning team with a total of 99 points. Irene Nakalembe (31 points), Grace Njeri (30points) and Andrew Byaruhanga (38points) featured for team Let Go Travel.

Individual winners:

Odri Jessy emerged Group A Winner with 39 points beating Deco Mutebi on countback who finished as Runners up. Geoffrey Byamugisha and Stanley Musiime topped Group B and C with 40 and 38 points respectively. Seasoned lady Golfer Eva Magala emerged winner in the ladies category with 38 points. All the winners in the various categories walked away with trophies and prizes.
