They are Golf’s unsung heroes whose main role is to act as a navigator for a player on the golf course and they are none other than caddies, the men and women who on Monday descended on the Entebbe Golf Course to participate in the 2017 Caddies Golf Match Play Tournament.
Entebbe emerged overall winners of the tournament with a total of five points while Kampala only garnered three points. Some of the outstanding Entebbe caddies that whipped their counterparts included;
Simon Peter Luyombya and Bright Kato Mukama pair beat Bukenya and Sebunya pair 5&4, Tony Mudungu and Bwire Cliff comfortably edged Ben Kateeba and John Kasozi pair 4&3, John Abaho and Reginah Namata saw off Paul and Robinah Angwom pair 4&3. Ronnie. A. and Liz. K earned their Kampala side a well deserving victory after they defeated Entebbe’s Nicholas Kaweesa and Albert Kayom 4&3. The all female Kampala pair comprising of Mbabazi Milly and Beckie Muwanazi defeated Olobo Moses and Daniel Mwesige 2&1.
John Kokas Elungat and Lawrence Walakira beat Kampala’s Ssenteza and Ben 3&2 while Entebbe’s Brian Kamoga and Bruhan Matovu cruised past Okello and Zura pair 2-up.
