The Entebbe Municipality Resident District Commissioner Nalongo Rose Kirabira is speaking tough and vowing to stream line all government service delivery units in her area of jurisdiction. This follows a shocking discovery that several Clinics in Entebbe and neighboring areas in Abaita Ababiri have made it a habit of selling government drugs and medicines and yet they are supposed to be free of charge. RDC Kirabira noted that clinics are selling and vending government drugs like dry beans with a lot of impunity. She noted that local residents keep crying that government health facilities lack medicines and yet most the medicines end up in clinics where they are sold. She revealed that she will soon dispatch a team to conduct a crack down on all clinics selling government medicines and the culprits will be thrown behind bars.

RDC Kirabira who was addressing a security meeting that was organized in Abaita Ababiri on Wednesday also pinned down bar owners over harboring wrong elements. She noted that several wrong elements spend most of their time boozing from morning to evening in bars and in the night go on a robbing spree in addition to terrorizing the locals. She urged the local residents to cooperate with the police authorities to weed out and report all the wrong elements.

The Katabi LCIII Chairman Ronald Kalema noted that the local residents have now resorted to ‘pupuling’ in the open due to lack of enough public toilets. He also pinned down some crime preventers who have made it a habit of illegally arresting poor locals and extorting money from them.
